The skies over Malvern are abuzz!

The lads and I were finishing up on a local Malvern decorating job today - a bit of window work and wood gloss on an exterior decorating job that we had done last year, when our words were soon overcome by the constant roar of Rolls Royce Jet Engines!

High above, in the cloudless blue sky (it's not often we get to use that expression at this time of year so I do so when I can!) an RAF Tornado was doing wide circuits of the town and hills and the constant roar of its Bristol manufactured engines was a few decibels short of deafening.

We tried to spot the thing, but from atop a section of scaffold, paint brushes in hand,  looking up into the firmament, into the pale blue of a clear afternoon sky, (got it in again!) was a near impossible task. It did spur us into political debate about the current uncertainties in more unfortunate parts of the globe and what the year ahead might bring, but being the first day of 2016 when we were outside and high up, it's just a nice memory to document.

All in all, I think it's a sensible thing to be a happy and contented decorator in our green and pleasant land.
